Catering to the blind & visually impaired

The large touchscreen on PAX A920 payment device makes it difficult or impossible for people with a vision impairment or blindness to enter PIN numbers in a traditional way. PAX has worked alongside RNIB, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, since October 2018, to bring to market a payment feature that will allow PIN entering on touchscreen displays for people with visual disabilities.

When a visually impaired customer wants to pay, the device will read out the paying amount, along with basic instructions on how to proceed, using special beep technology to assist with the keypad navigation on the touchscreen.
